Chief Poss to speak on home fire safety at Tea and Learn
Fire Chief Alan Poss will speak on the topic "Fire Safety for the Home" at the Wills Memorial Hospital Tea and Learn Thursday, November 6, at 2:30 p.m. in the hospital café
Chief Poss is a lifelong resident of Washington. He received his Associate of Business degree from Gordon Military College in l971. In 1979 he became the 21st fireman in the state to become certified as a Georgia Smoke Diver along with receiving his emergency technician license.
He became the third Fire Chief for the City of Washington in l981 and oversees the department which employs nine full-time firemen and 24 volunteers.
Chief Poss is married to the former Kathy Denard of Washington. They have two children and four grandchildren.
