Jessica Ohnemueller marries Ashley Lawrence James Oct. 11

Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Lawrence James Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Lawrence James Jessica Ohnemueller of Bavaria, Germany, and Ashley Lawrence James of Greenville, S.C., exchanged wedding vows in the presence of their immediate families on Saturday, October 11, at ten o'clock in the morning at Bethel United Methodist Church in Washington. Rev. Richard Broome of Lincolnton officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Daniela Ohnemueller and Harold Hoffmann of Bavaria.

The bridegroom is the son of Lawrence James and Connie James of Philomath. He is the grandson of Howard and Dell James of Washington and Max and Gloria Armour of Philomath.

The bride decorated the altar for the wedding using two arrangements of red roses on the altar table. The candlesticks on the table were encircled with clusters of purple. White and purple bows adorned the corners of the altar railing that also featured a center arrangement of purple and white lilies. A cross was draped in white with trailing greenery. Another focal point of the altar was the unity candle, made by the bride and decorated with red roses and encircling wedding rings. The names of the couple and their wedding date was also inscribed on the candle.

"The Bridal Chorus" was recorded for the ceremony.

The bridegroom's sister, Savannah James of Tampa, Fla., served as the only attendant. She wore a purple street-length dress accented in black around the neckline and waist and carried a bouquet of white carnations, red roses and purple accents tied with sheer ribbon.

The bride was lovely in her A-line full-length white gown fashioned with a fitted bodice enhanced with beaded irridescents. Above-the-elbow - length satin gloves finished her attire.

Her hand-tied bouquet held red roses, white carnations, and purple accents.

The bridegroom was attired in a black tuxedo and tie accented with a red vest and red rose boutonniere.

Reception

Following the ceremony the bride, assisted by the couple's families, entertained at a brunch in the church fellowship hall.

The wedding table was covered with a white satin cloth and centered with the three-tiered wedding cake accented and topped with red roses. The wedding couple's initials were also featured on the cake. A crystal bride and bridegroom was placed between the second and top tier and red rosebuds surrounded the cake.

Guests' tables were covered in white and accented with purple runners. Arrangements of red, white and purple flowers finished each table decoration.

Guests enjoyed a delicious brunch menu.

The couple has plans for a honeymoon cruise at a later date.

They are making their home in Greenville, S.C.

Out-of-town guests were her aunts and cousins, Hildegard Rigby-Meth and Angela Anderson of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; Ursula Taylor and Barbara of Panama City, Fla.
