Community observes Veterans Day in Washington
At 11 a.m. on November 11, a small crowd observed Veterans Day on The Square in Washington with the singing of hymns, prayers, and the recognition of those who served in the service of their country. The Wilkes Ministers United organized the service, and members Richard Seibert, Rev. Gale Seibert, Rev. Charles Henderson, Rev. Glen Kohlhagen, Dr. Denni Moss participated, along with music by Freddie Brown. The service ended with the playing of Taps and the hymn, "Eternal Father, Strong to Save." |
