Utility bill assistance available
Applications will be received on November 13 and 14 for anyone interested in participating in the Low Income Energy Assistance program in Wilkes County. The program is to assist in paying utility bills.
Applicants must be 65 years of age or older to qualify. Interested persons should apply for the assistance at the Third Shiloh Missionary Center, 219 McLendon Drive, Washington, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., on the specified dates.
Those applying must have the following: picture identification; Social Security Card for all household members; income for the past 30 days for all household members; and a recent utility bill.
