So far we haven't been sick and we are thankful. ƒThe regular fifth Sunday covered dish dinner at Clifford's Grove Baptist Church has been canceled for November. Plans will be made for a Christmas social. I'll have more about that next month. ƒGail Hammock of Warwick spent the weekend with Pam and Ricky McCarty. Saturday night they attended the annual womanless beauty pageant sponsored by the Xi Zeta Delta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, with proceeds going to the Bill McCarty Scholarship Fund. It was held at the high schol cafeteria and Pam said it was hilarious and lots of fun. I'm sorry I missed it this year. ƒ Elizabeth Barber and James and Keeley Lance visited Sue and Willard Lance Saturday. ƒSamille and James Sherrer joined Dot Branham and enjoyed the Rotary Pancake supper Friday night at the Washington-Wilkes Elementary School Cafeteria. There were so many people there it was hard for the members to keep the pancakes coming. ƒJohn Hopkins of Athens visited his grandmother, Iris Dyson, Saturday. They enjoyed having a chicken lunch together at the Lions Club. ƒEddy Sorrells of Snellville, who came to deer hunt, spent Tuesday night and Wednesday night with Pam and Ricky McCarty. ƒThe nicest thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.
