Clifford Grove Baptist Church, Rayle, is changing meeting times beginning November 2. Sunday School is at 9:45 a.m.; the morning worship service, 11 a.m.; and the fifth Sunday service, 10 a.m.

New Saints CME Church, 515 Baltimore Rd., Washington, will hold SNAP meetings on Saturday, November 22 and 29, 10 a.m.

Regular church services for The Move of God Church of Rayle are now being held at the former location of Truelight Holiness Church, 152 Horace Callaway Road, Rayle. Sunday services begin at 12 noon; Sunday evening, 7 p.m. Prayer service is each Tuesday night at 7 p.m.; Bible study, Thursday at 7 p.m. A separate Bible workshop will be held each Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Lions Club is selling tickets for the raffle of a cedar chest made by Bobby West, to be given to a lucky winner on December 1. Tickets are $1.00 each and may be obtained from any Lions Club member or by calling Mary or Lisa at 706-678-2422.

Donations are being accepted for the lighting of the second annual "Christmas Tree of Love" on The Square during the Downtown Candlelight Shopping November 25. Donations for listing names and lighting a light are $5.00 each.

The December meeting of the Hospital Authority has been changed to December 17.

The Flint Hill Baptist Church will be having a 100 Women in Red program on Sunday, December 21, 3 p.m. All women in the CSRA are invited to help with the program. Evangelist Kathy Butler will be bringing the message.

New Salem Baptist Church in Tyrone will have a Thanksgiving Service Wednesday, November 26, at 7:30 p.m. The pastor, Rev. Reynolds, and the congregation extend an invitation to everyone to attend.

The Optimi st Washington is sponsoring an ATV raffle. Tickets are available for $5.00 each or five for $20 from any Optimist Club member, or at the main office and downtown office of Farmers and Merchants Bank, Farmers State Bank, and at The Company Store.

Booker's Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate the 18th anniversary of the pastor, Rev. Dante Smith, Sunday, December 7, at 12 noon. Rev. Demetrius Porter will be the speaker and members of his church, New Hope Baptist Church of Crawfordville, and the choir will be special guests. Dinner will be served. All other churches are invited.

Early deadlines for publication of the November 27 (Thanksgiving) issue of The News- Reporter are classified and legal advertisements and society news, Friday, November 21, 5 p.m.; all other news and retail advertising, Monday, November 24, 12 noon. Community correspondents should have their news in by 9 a.m. Monday, November 24. The newspaper office and Radio Shack will be closed Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28.

Wilkes County parents whose child's birth announcement appeared in The News-Reporter during 2008 have received letters with information about having their child's picture included on the Christmas Baby Page in December. Although The News- Reporter does not send letters to grandparents, grandchildren whose announcement appeared are eligible for sign-up by calling The News-Reporter at 706-678- 2636.

Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a uniform sale Thursday, November 20, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the hospital lobby. First Uniform of Charlotte, N.C., will be the dealer. Payment can be by payroll deduction, cash, or charge. For more information call 706-678-9272.

Little Roy Lewis, Lizzie and Rebecca Long and Friends will be picking and singing at the Metasville School House on Thanksgiving night, November 27, at 7 p.m. Ladies of Rehoboth Baptist Church will furnish refreshments. The public is invited.

The Episcopal Church of the Mediator Bazaar and Christmas Luncheon will be held Saturday, December 6, with the Bazaar opening at 10:30 a.m. and lunch service beginning at 11:30. The Country Kitchen will be open offering candy, pies, jellies, pickles, and other delicacies.

Ebenezer Baptist Church children and youth group will have a BAKE SALE at BiLo shopping center at 9 a.m. Saturday, November 22.

Booker's Chapel Baptist Church will have a pre-pastoral anniversary service for its pastor and first lady, Rev. and Mrs. L. Dante' Smth, on Sunday, November 30, 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Pastor Jermaine Smith of Pleasantview Baptist Church, Covington.
