An open house was held Monday to give parents an opportunity to pick up students' progress reports and speak with their teachers. Progress reports were given to the remainder of the students Tuesday.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) held a flag folding ceremony during each lunch period on Veterans Day. Students were chosen from the sixth grade, seventh grade, and eighth grade to fold the flag as Mrs. Debbie Anderson read the meaning of each fold and the history of the American flag.

From the sixth grade, Kyle Standard and Liam Smith were chosen to participate in the ceremony. From the seventh grade, A.J. Graves and Devon Lewis were chosen, and from the eighth grade, Doug Standard and Adam Standard were chosen. The sixth and eighth graders are members of Boy Scout Troop 34.

The girls' and boys' basketball teams played November 6 against Lincoln County at home. On the Lady Tigers team, Aaliya Berry scored 14 points, Tiare Tatum 10, and Undrelle Grant scored the tiebreaker. The close game had the crowd on the edges of their seats but the Lady Tigers took a successful turn in the end, leaving the Lady Devils deflated, by the score of 26-22.

In the boys' game, the Tigers won 37-30. According to Coach Jeff Finch, the most impressive play of the game was Christian Keiser's three-point basket when the clock ran out during the third quarter to put the game out of reach for the Devils.

The rematch at Lincoln County last Thursday was not so successful for either team. The Lady Tigers suffered a heartbreaking 26-13 loss, although according to Coach Rosilyn Hunt, the Lady Tigers had 15 points on the books. Tiare Tatum scored seven points and made one steal. Dominique Jenkins and Aaliya Berry each scored four points and Undrelle Grant made two steals.

In the boys' game, the Tigers lost 53-37. According to Coach Finch, it was a close game until early in the fourth quarter when the Devils broke away with some easy baskets. "We played great team ball and got a lot of hustle and effort out of our eighth graders especially," Coach Finch said. Brian Hardigree was the leading scorer with 13 points.
