Wasn't the rain wonderful? I don't know how many inches, but there was a lot of water, which we are so grateful for. Now maybe James' turnip greens will grow. ƒ James and I attended the senior luncheon at Tignall Baptist Church Tuesday. Before the delicious Thanksgiving meal, Pat Bobo and three other ladies did the cutest skit, mostly about aprons. Everyone really enjoyed it. I won't go into details but be sure to read the Tignall news. I'm sure Carolyn will tell all about it. ƒJames Sherrer made a business trip to Danielsville Friday. While there he visited his longtime family friend, Mrs. Sue McCarty. On his way home he visited Sidney Ann Stoyles at Cobb Health Care Center in Comer and he also visited Howard Thaxton near Lexington. ƒSue Davis spent Saturday night with Faye and her family. Then early Sunday morning she went to University Hospital to be with the family of her brother, W.A. Stevens, while he was undergoing emergency heart surgery. She said the operation went well and the doctor said he will be fine. ƒMrs. Juanita Bradford is somewhat better after being very sick with the flu. She got a good report from her heart doctor in Augusta Thursday. ƒJanet and Scott Blaine had supper Monday night with Don and Kay Roane of Cleveland who were camping at A.H. Stephens State Park in Crawfordville. Supper guests of Janet and Scott Sunday night were Lynn and Paul Duffy of Houchston. Sue Davis also visited Sunday evening. ƒPam McCarty visited Angie and Jack Strother Saturday night. ƒSue and Willard Lance visited Elizabeth Barber and Chris Conway in Athens Saturday afternoon. ƒCongratulations to Beth Palmer Ray and Bob Davis on their marriage. Rev. Wade Palmer performer the ceremony following worship services Sunday morning at Raytown Baptist Church. After a bountiful covered dish meal, they were presented a beautiful wedding cake served with fruit punch. We wish them many happy years together. They are making their home in Sharon. ƒGay Branham, Whitney and Charlie attended homecoming and celebration of the 110th anniversary at Tignall Baptist Church Sunday morning.
