Rev. Larry Montgomery of Louisville was the guest minister at Ebenezer Baptist Church Sunday. We were happy to have him and Mrs. Montgomery. He recently retired from the First Baptist Church in Louisville. Dr. Dupree was preaching for First Baptist in Thomson where he served from 1979 to 1992. ƒEbenezer Baptist Church held an election for three new deacons last Sunday. Those elected were Billy Fair, John Shelton, and Shane Gunter. Shane will be ordained soon. ƒThe Bible study group will meet at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Coryer Poss Tuesday evening. ƒPeyton Standard of Columbia, S.C., spent Saturday and Sunday with his grandmother, Linda Standard. Peyton celebrated his seventh birthday which was November 17. Linda and Peyton visited Sarah Huff and also attended church at Mt. Zion. Linda carried him home Sunday. ƒSarah Huff's visitors were Aubrye and Michael Mathe and Linda and Peyton Standard. ƒSheldon Eubanks of Athens visited Aubrye and Michael Mathe during the weekend. He came especially to hunt. ƒPat Tuttle visits her mother, Mrs. Alma O'Neal, often. Sandy O'Pry of Athens spent the weekend with her mother. ƒMichael VanHart spent Friday evening with Roy Chesnut. Hunter Safrit spent the weekend with Roy Chesnut. ƒTrudy Ingram spent the weekend at home with her family. ƒMr. and Mrs. Matthew Ryll, Connor and Calley visited Mrs. Lucille Ingram Saturday and Sunday. ƒI visited my mother, Blanche Wallace in Lincoln County, several days last week. ƒSarah Huff made two trips to Ft. Gordon Monday and Saturday. Randy Goldman went with Sarah. ƒI went to Augusta Thursday. I visited Richard and Judy Sleister and had supper with them.. ƒCassie Goldman and Bryson visited her mother, Deanne Johnson in Hull, Thursday. ƒBobbi and Wayne Thornton visited Miss Grace Dunaway and Alex Dunaway last week. Rev. Ray Brown of Statesboro also visited. Miss Grace seems to be feeling some better. Tommy Dunnaway visited during the week. Alex Dunaway visited his cousin, Linda Standard, Saturday. ƒHappy birthday to all who are celebrating a birthday this week.
