Alyssa Stewart, bride-elect of Jeffrey Roth, was feted at a lingerie shower and bachelorette party Saturday evening, November 15, at the home of Sherri McAvoy on Wrightsboro Road. Co-hostesses with Mrs. McAvoy for the lingerie shower were Amy Thomas of Eatonton, Amanda Sanders of Lincolnton, and Hannah Wright of Rayle.

Casual dress was the attire for the evening and Miss Stewart's ensemble was accented with a bachelorette crown and sash presented to her as she arrived.

Guests enjoyed coffee and tea with Rice Krispie Treats, macadamia nut cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies and coffee cake.

The "Cute" game was played as the bride-elect opened her gifts and Bonnie Roth was the winner.

Among the guests attending the shower were the bride-elect's mother, Gail Stewart; grandmother, Gladys Roth; niece, Ava Wright; cousin and daughters, Vickie Matthews, Katie and Kellie, and friend, Stephanie Carte, all of Athens; the prospective bridegroom's mother, Sonya Roth, and sister, Bonnie Roth.

At the close of the shower, many of the guests departed. Mrs. Thomas, Mrs. Sanders and Mrs. Wright continued the evening's festivities with a Mexican fiesta and bachelorette party for the bride-elect and friends in the family room. Colors of the Mexican flag, red, green and yellow, were used in decorating. Games were enjoyed on how well the girls attending knew the brideelect and how well the bride-elect knew her prospective bridegroom. A cookie game was also played. The girls also enjoyed getting in the hot tub on the deck during the party.
