Driving under the influence arrests lead November's roundup of law enforcement

Heavy enforcement action by city, county, and state police brought an increase in DUI arrests in November, along with an array of drug arrests, property crimes, and assaults. The following arrests were recorded by law enforcement in Wilkes County during the month of November.

Gerard Miquel Parks, 45, of Washington, was arrested November 11 by Washington Police and charged with robbery. He was held on bond.

Willie Cofer, 18, of Washington, was arrested November 12 by Washington Police and charged with felony violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act. He was held on bond.

Melvin Towns, 29, of Wilkes County, was arrested November 16 by Wilkes County deputies and charged with aggravated assault. He was held on $15,000 bond.

David Nichols Hinton, 24, of Dearing, was arrested November 20 by a Georgia State Patrol trooper and charged with speeding, driving under the influence, reckless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, theft by receiving stolen property, driving on the wrong side of the road, failure to stop for a stop sign, and a motorcycle helmet charge. He was held for state probation.

Michael T. Jenkins, 32, of Decatur, Ga., was arrested November 18 by Washington Police and charged with two counts of unlawful manufacture, delivery, etc. of noncontrolled substances; violation of the drug related object law; and obstruction of an officer. He was held on $82,000 bond.

Randy McLendon, 56, of Tignall, was arrested November 11 by Washington Police and charged with theft by shoplifting. He was released on $432 bond.

Maria Guerrero, 37, of Jacinto City, Tex., was arrested November 7 by Wilkes County deputies and charged with driving while license is withdrawn; failure to drive within a single lane; and with an equipment violation. She was released on $941 bond.

Nikeitta Cappell, 20, of Crawford, was arrested November 9 by Washington Police and charged with driving under the influence, and with speeding (26-30 over). She was released on $1,906 bond.

John David Dye, 51, of Washington, was arrested November 22 by Washington Police and charged with driving under the influence, driving while license is withdrawn; and with failure to stop for a stop sign. He was held on $3,150 bond.

Marcus Scott Taylor, 36, of Lexington, was arrested November 4 by Washington Police and charged with speeding, driving while license withdrawn, and operation of a vehicle with improper plate. He was released on $2,010 bond.

Lareekas Jernigan, 29, of Greensboro, was arrested November 14 by a Georgia State Patrol trooper and charged with driving under the influence; failure to report an accident; driving while license is withdrawn; and with failure to drive within a single lane. He was released on $7,000 bond.

Neville E. Newman, 46, of Washington, was arrested November 1 by a Georgia State Patrol trooper and charged with driving under the influence, and with failure to drive within a single lane. He was released on $2,000 bond.

Demetris Davis, 32, of Calhoun Falls, S.C., was arrested November 2 by Washington Police and charged with driving under the influence, and with failure to drive within a single lane. He was released on bond.

Richard Manago, 28, of Crawfordville, was arrested November 23 by Washington Police and charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving while license is withdrawn. He was held on $5,736 bond.

Calvin Pitts, 63, of Crawfordville, was arrested November 20 by Washington Police and charged with driving under the influence; possession of marijuana; driving with an open container; expired tag; failure to stop for a stop sign; driving while license withdrawn; and driving with no insurance. He was held on $6,496 bond.

Mawanua Kelia Ware, 20, was arrested November 16 by Washington Police and charged with driving without a license (unlicensed/wrong class.) She was released on $1,426 bond.

Ramon Barnes, 28, of Washington, was arrested November 16 by Washington Police and charged with disorderly conduct. He was released on $566 bond.

Robert Sudduth, 21, of Wilkes County, was arrested November 7 by Washington Police and charged with disorderly conduct. He was released on $283 bond.

Kelsey Meeks, 18, of Washington, was arrested November 7 by Washington Police and charged with disorderly conduct. She was released on $283 bond.

Walter Bernard Pettway, 62, of Wilkes County, was arrested November 7 by Wilkes County deputies and charged with theft of services. He was released on $3,500 bond.

April Grant, 35, of Washington, was arrested November 6 by Washington Police and charged with disorderly conduct. She was released on $283 bond.

Jermey Perry, 22, of Ft. Gordon, was arrested November 2 by Wilkes County deputies and charged with driving under the influence; driving while license is withdrawn; and laying drags. He was held on $1,536 bond.

Michael A. Hieberger, 18, of Richmond, Va., was arrested November 2 by Wilkes County deputies and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was released on $1,500 bond.

Catherine Jane Murphy, 18, of St. Simons Island, was arrested November 2 by Wilkes County deputies and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and with speeding (26-30 over). She was released on $2,000 bond.

Whitney Jane Davis, 18, of Kennesaw, Ga., was arrested November 2 by Wilkes County deputies and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. She was released on $1,500 bond.

Rarshundia D. Black, 24, of Washington, was arrested November 3 by Washington Police and charged with battery (FVA). She was released on $3,500 bond.

Randy Mickens, 54, of Washington, was arrested November 29 by Washington Police and charged with disorderly conduct. He was released on $566 bond.

John David Dye, 51, of Washington, was arrested November 29 by Washington Police and charged with driving under the influence, driving while license is withdrawn; and with failure to stop for a stop sign. He was held on $3,150 bond.

Jeffery Will Stone, 44, of Augusta, was arrested November 27 by a Georgia State Patrol trooper and charged with driving under the influence (2nd offense); driving while license is withdrawn; and with making an improper turn. He was released on $4,230 bond.
