Applications will be received on December 18 and 19 for anyone interested in participating in the Low Income Energy Assistance program in Wilkes County. The program is to assist in paying utility bills.

Interested persons should apply for the assistance program in Wesley Hall of the First United Methodist Church, located at 102 W. Liberty Street, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on the specified dates.

Those applying must have the following: picture identification; Social Security card for all household members; income for the past 30 days for all household members; and a recent gas or utility bill.
