Over the river and through the woods . . . They can't get The Augusta Chronicle to us they say! We are going to be in the dark without a daily paper. Oh, but happy news. We can read it online. Of course everyone doesn't own a computer and who wants to read a daily paper on line? I know I want to turn a page, not scroll down. When I was a child we lived in the sticks so far back they had to pump sunshine to us, but we got the daily Atlanta Constitution delivered to our mailbox one mile from our house. Thank goodness we have the weekly News-Reporter and can get our county news. ƒIsn't it a great time to be with families and friends and to enjoy stuffing ourselves? Joining them were the other daughter and family, Kimberly and Joe Coots, Chase and Connor of Ranger. While visiting with their children in Bethlehem, O'Neil had problems with his heart so they took him to the hospital at Gwinnett Medical. As of this writing he is still in the hospital there. Let's keep him in our prayers. ƒSara Frances Henderson spent Wednesday through Saturday in Beech Island, S.C., with her son and daughter-in-law, Creight and Cheryl Henderson. ƒHaving Thanksgiving dinner at the home of William Rhodes were Pat Mack, Randy and Karen Rhodes, Taylor and Christopher of Danielsville, and Karen's daughter and grandson, Mary and Dawson of Furness, Florida, and Clifford Burnette of Waynesille, N.C. ƒPat Mack joined John and Katie Mack, J.T. and Mary Katherine on a trip to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Cherokee from Friday through Sunday. There were 28 family members there to enjoy dinner together. They returned to Hartwell on Thursday where Margaret spent the night at Glenn's and then went on to Otis and Martha Ann Fortson's for the weekend. ƒLem and Ellen LeRoy of Charlotte, N.C., spent Thanksgiving with Albert and Eudora Huyck. Let's remember this family in our prayers. ƒLet's keep Mark Saggus in our prayers also as he is leaving this week for Afghanistan. Also remember to keep Gary Rogers and his family in our prayers. ƒWe extend sympathy to the family of Dorothy Walker of Atlanta who passed away last week. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Ernest and Cora Walker who once lived in Tignall. She was buried at Fishing Creek Baptist Church Cemetery this week. ƒThere will be a senior adult luncheon at the Family Life Center at Tignall Baptist Church Tuesday, December 9, at 11:30 a.m. Mrs. Stephanie Greene of Thomson will be entertaining the group.
