Residents across the city are asked to light up the night Sunday, December 21, as the Iris Garden Club's annual "Night of Lights" returns this year.

To enter their homes in the Night of Lights home lighting contest, homeowners must call 706-359-2677 as soon as possible.

Homes will be judged in a single traditional/historic category, a Christmas/modern category, and a whimsical "Wow!" category.

As in years past, prizes will be $25 for first, $15 for second place, and $10 for third in each category. Entering homeowners are asked to have their house number illuminated to help the judges find their locations.

And as always, the garden club encourages homeowners and businesses all over Washington to light up the night with their Christmas lights.
