Middle School Beta Club inducts new members

Thirty students were inducted as new members of the Washington-Wilkes Junior Beta Club last week at the school. Those inducted were (front row, l-r) Ya'Kweisha Lackey, Victoria Pelley, Kathleen Storrin, Amy McAvoy, Jacob Morgan, Jess Baumert, (second row) Antonio Jackson, Macie Smith, Keyunna Reid, Chelsea Burse, Dylan Echols, (third row) Brandon Freeman, Rhett Denard, Ashley Gholston, Camille Lewis, Ashlyn Holley, Miranda Crook, (fourth row) Jamille Ferrell, Kierra Carter, Hope Ward, Madison Powell, Terez Norman, Brannon James, (fifth row) Divesia Lee, Ryan Jones, Candler Price, Logan Denard, Hunter Newsome, Gavin Garrett, and (not pictured) Dorian Favors. The National Junior Beta Club was founded in 1961 for academically outstanding students in grades five through nine. The club is a non-profit leadership-service club whose purpose is to encourage effort and reward merit, and to promote those qualities of character that make for good citizenship.
