A memorial service for James Mayo Dodson, 67, of Washington will be held Friday, December 19, 2008, at 11 a.m., at Hopkins Funeral Home. He died Sunday, December 14, at his home.

Mr. Dodson was a native of Charlottesville, Virginia, and was the son of the late James Dodson and the late Neda Rosson Dodson. He was a retired plant manager in the natural gas industry and had lived in Wilkes County for 10 years. He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Dodson; a son and daughterin law, Dr. Kirk Dodson and Kathy Dodson; two sisters, Shirley Walker, Warrenton, Virginia, and Virginia Busick, Orange, Virginia; and three grandchildren, Raina Dodson, Morgan Dodson, and Gage Dodson.
