Robert James Myers
Graveside services for Robert James Myers, 98, of North Gibson Street, Warrenton, were held Friday, December 12, 2008, at Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery, Metasville, with Rev. Steve Rayner officiating.
Mr. Myers was a native of Lincoln County and was the son of the late Newton Collie Myers and the late Sarah Frances Tankersley Myers. His first wife was the late Jessie Goolsby Myers. He lived in Lincoln and Wilkes counties for many years before moving to Warrenton in 1973. He retired from Royal Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Myers of Thomson; a son, Jack Myers and his wife Beverly of Valdosta, Lairee M. Rodgers of Washington, and Beverly M. Baker and her husband Roy of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; and seven grandchildren, Jack Myers Jr., Michelle Ross, Maethea Bean, Melissa Watlington, Kelly Baker, Craig Baker, and Ted Baker; and four great-grandchildren.
