Families gather for Christmas celebrations at McClearen home
David and Louise McClearen entertained their families at annual celebrations during the weekend at their home on the Athens Highway.
They were hosts for the Brown- McClearen Christmas celebration on Saturday, December 13. Guests included Louise Smith and Charles Smith of Tignall; Graham and Glenda Smith, Marshall, Beth and Benjamin Smith, Mike Fitzpatrick and Bruce McClearen, of Snellville; Michael McClearen of Newnan; Adam and Keighley Smith of Decatur; David and Angie Bryant of Louisville; Brian and Lauren Jackson of Wrightsville; Harry and Anita Kattegat, Tyler Kattegat and Pam Baggett of Grovetown; Mitchell Patton of Appling; Peggy Murdock and Reba and Henry Pounds of Thomson; Carol McClearen and Julie McClearen of Charleston, S.C.; Edith Lindsey, Jan Jones, Emily Connell, and Valerie Jackson of Washington.
On Sunday, December 14, the Mc- Clearens hosted the Johnson-Partain Christmas celebration. Attending were Lindsey Partain of Madison; Betty Wommack of Tennille; Brad and Joey Boardwell of Macon; Tommy and Barbara Chapman and Charlotte White of Norwood; Carl Chapman of Statesboro; Erin Chapman of Greensboro; Cary and Jean Freeman of Iva, S.C.; Chris, Jane, Brooks, Walker and Ella Thornton of Commerce; Ellis and Pat Thornton, Michael, Kelli and Coley Tillman, Helen Miller, Julie Tench, Tabatha and Blake, and Thomas (Coot) Johnson of Washington.
For both occasions the house was beautifully decorated for the season using traditional decorations in addition to the hostess' collections of Santas and trains.The Christmas tree was the focal point in the den where the family gathered on each occasion.
