Thanks for Christmas at Callaway

TO THE EDITOR:

Christmas at Callaway 2008 was a big success with over 170 visitors. Thanks to the many people who made donations and volunteered tireless hours with a smile to make sure the guests got into the Christmas spirit.

Santa's helpers included:

Crafters: The Unity Group, Iris Garden Club, Washington Plantation, Harpers RL Development Company, Rebecca and Daniel Mathis, Linda Dixon, Betty Martin, Diane Scott, Alexandra Craig, Candy Callaway, Buddy Patterson, Sue Raban, and Deborah Elam.

Donations: Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Crookham, Farmers State Bank, Ingle's Food Store, IGA, Post Oak Farms, and Mitchell Anderson.

Entertainers: Debbie Danner, Brenda Vandiver, Susan Echols, Beth Moore, Ruth Harris and students, Zachary Hill, Andrea Hill, Lykah Mora, Ciara Meadows, Christie Lawrence, Jake Derry, Samantha Wheatley, Makayla Wray, Travis Williams, Emily Beggs, Anna Beggs, Ben Danner, Will Price, Sylvia Walker, Cecilia Walker, Brittany Guin, Catie Greer, Adam Ruthkowski, and Franny Robinson.

Period Costumes and Docents: Rebecca Mathis, Alexandra Craig, Diane Scott, Kelsey Holley, Susanne Carter, and Cheryl White.

Special thanks to the City of Washington Street Department in providing all the greenery and all around assistance and the Boy Scout Troop #535 of Loganville under the leadership of Joe Solon and others for their assistance with the fireplaces and grounds.

Your presence and help made our jobs as Chairmen a pleasure and it was wonderful to work with you in providing the City of Washington a more added attraction.
