Credit Due
By GARY TOOLE
Give credit where credit is due. Many blame the tremendous increase in crime on poverty, poor environment and broken homes. The first crime was committed by Cain in the Garden of Eden. No poverty, a good environment, and two parents.

The truth is that most of those committing crimes are just criminals because they want to be. Most crime is drug related: the need for drugs and the greed for drug money. That's what it's all about. It ain't about one dollar between them and starvation.

One church in one crime infested city has started to clean up its neighborhood, because they know the truth. Those young folks committing crimes don't need sympathy; they need discipline and on the church billboard an Afro-American church put, "To all prostitutes, pimps, drug dealers and thieves: Get out of our neighborhood now! We are watching you and we will call the police!"

Some bleeding heart liberals say about these thugs, "Oh, the poor things!" But one Supreme Court Justice who pulled himself up from poverty by his boot straps and with hard work and ultimate faith in God (He graduated from Harvard Law School), said, "You are what you make of yourself. It's your choice!"

Right on, brother! Can you say amen?
