GSP investigates month's accidents
      State Troopers from the Washington Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated six traffic accidents during the month of December in Wilkes County. Sergeant First Class Derrick Durden said the traffic crashes resulted in six injuries. There were no traffic deaths.

Corps of Engineers now offering public land Adopt-a-Tree program
      The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Clark's Hill Lake will be offering an Adopt-A-Tree program for the first time this year. Starting January 11, persons with Lake Shoreline Use Permits will be able to adopt a healthy 4-6 foot tree in a 3-gallon container.

      Sunday morning we had a wonderful service at Sardis Baptist Church. Sunday School was at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The singing of the inspirational hymns was led by Joyce Fry with Pam Hall as pianist. The children happily went down to the altar for their message by Rev. Jim Newsome.
