From the Heart' Valentine benefit set for Feb. 2 at The Pope Center

The Wills Memorial Hospital Foundation is sponsoring a second Valentine benefit, "From the Heart," on February 2, 2008, beginning at 7 p.m. at the newly renovated Pope Center. The first "From the Heart" benefit honored Mary Darby in February 2006.

Entertainment will be provided by "The Usual Suspects" of Atlanta, a dynamic 18-piece orchestra that features male and female vocalists. "This very entertaining and talented dance band has been generously sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Dave Chesnut and Mr. and Mrs. John Horton of Washington Wilkes and the Atlanta metro area," said Debbie Bennett, event organizer. The band is dedicated to the promotion and enjoyment of the Big Band era and its music, and also performs popular music from other eras with a prolific song list.

Only 25 tables of eight are available. An added feature this year is that all tables will have unique Valentine decorations created by volunteer decorators vying for a first prize of $100, a second prize of $50, and a third prize of $25. Independent judges will consider the unique creativity regarding a Valentine theme. There are a few tables left to decorate if anyone is interested. Interested parties are asked to contact Bennett at 706-401-0816.

Individual seats are $125 each; benefactors have four seats for a $500 contribution; and sponsors receive eight reservations for a $1000 contribution. Checks should be made payable to WMHF, Inc. and mailed to WMHF, P.O. Box 176, Washington, GA 30673 by January 20. Reservations may also be made at Tena's Jewelry and Gifts or Bee Southern in Washington.

Donors, sponsors, and benefactors will have first choice of tables. All are asked to include a note with their checks indicating the names of others with which they wish to sit. Donors, sponsors, and benefactor requests will be honored. Individuals who make requests will be honored if possible.

Dress is coat and tie, black tie optional. Ladies should glitter. This will be a fun and festive social occasion to end the winter doldrums and celebrate the expectant spring.

The Wills Memorial Hospital Foundation hopes for the support of all. Those who are not unable to attend the February 2 party, dinner, and dance are invited to send honorariums, memorials, or donations to the above adderess.

The Wills Memorial Hospital Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization registered with the Georgia Secretary of State. Individual reservation monies, benefactor contributions, sponsorships, and donations are tax deductible for 2008.

"Your support of your local hospital is truly in your best interest," Bennett said.
