Sunday School Union for Wilkes County convenes at Trinity

The Wilkes County Sunday School Union convened with the Trinity Baptist Church on December 28-30. Rev. H.M. Easley served as host pastor and Larry Norman served as host superintendent.

The session was opened by the president, Jamie Johnson. The devotional service was led by Enoch Booker Jr. and Johnny Banks. Singing was by the Mulberry Baptist Church.

The sermon was preached by Rev. Robert Crawford, and titled "A Formula for Happiness and Prosperity." The benediction was led by Rev. Crawford.

The Saturday session was opened by the vice-president, Larry Smith, and the devotional service was led by Tim Huff and Bobbie Hill.

Larry Smith welcomed those present and Bobbie Hill taught the 45-minute Bible lesson. The youth teacher was Johnny Banks. During the business session a rotating trophy will be presented to the winning Bible Bowl team.

The doctrinal sermon was preached by Rev. Lance Pitts, titled "I Must Tell Jesus."

During the youth session, Jaboris Wright presided as president and Porsha Banks as secretary. The Bible Bowl was led by Rev. Ed Anderson.

President Johnson opened the Sunday morning session. Enoch Booker Jr. and Willie Hampton led the devotional service. D.W. Dunn presided as Sunday School superintendent. The inspirational address was presented by President Johnson, titled, "Seeing Is Believing."

Singing was by Trinity Baptist Church. The missionary sermon was delivered by Rev. Robert Walton, titled "Dress Up and Get Ready for the Journey." Rev. Walton led the benediction.

The next Union session will convene March 28-30, at Marks Tabernacle Baptist Church, Lexington Road, Washington.

Robin Booker is secretary for the Union; Melvene Binns, assistant secretary; and Robert Walton, treasurer.
