Norman Dunson Funeral services for Norman Dunson, 76, of Compobello, S.C., were held Monday, January 7, 2008, at the Fishing Creek Baptist Church, Washington, with Rev. Roy Cates and Rev. Ficklen Guinn officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died January 5 at his home. Mr. Dunson was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of Nettie Hunt Dunson and the late Jesse Lee Dunson. He was a retired carpenter and electrician and was a member of the Fishing Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include his mother, Nettie Hunt Dunson, Milledgeville; three daughters and two sons-inlaw, Debbie Dunson of Calhoun, Angie and David Chapman, Eatonton, and Teresa and Mike Todd, Milledgeville; six sons, Charles Dunson, Calhoun, Eddie Dunson, Carl Dunson, and Buddy Dunson, Milledgeville, Tommy Dunson, Eatonton, and Corey Dunson, Dahlonega; a brother, Edward Dunson, Dahlonega; four sisters, Mary Fendley, Cleveland, Orene Wolfe, Milledgeville, Beatrice Land, Social Circle, and Jeanette Pullum, McDonough; and a large number of grandchildren. Pallbearers included Terry Wolfe, Henry Holsonback, Jesse Dunson, Mike Guinn, Jonathan Guinn, and T.J. Barnes.
Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
