Gresham-Saggus WOM members gather January 3

The Rhetta Gresham-Terry Bennett Saggus Women on Mission met in the Jesse Mercer Chapel of the First Baptist Church Thursday afternoon, January 3.

Gladys Reese, facilitator, presided and opened in prayer.

Members joined in reading the WMU Watchword from Colossians.

During the business meeting reports were given by Mabel Johnson, secretary, and June Chafin, treasurer.

Mission action was discussed and members voted to send money to buy chickens for the Ricks Institute in Liberia. The Institute is a new partnership project of WMU International Initiatives Ministry, AK-12 School, in Liberia. They purchase livestock for the children who receive immediate benefit from the animals and learn how to care for them. The group also voted to make an offering to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.

Helen Miller presented the program from "Mosaic" entitled "Tell Them About Jesus." She was assisted by the other members attending, Mrs. Chafin,Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Reese. Mrs. Miller closed in prayer.

Mrs. Reese continued by reading the missionary prayer calendar and closed the meeting with a prayer for the missionaries and those with special needs in the community.
