Ready for Revolutionary Days in Wilkes County
A color guard from the Sons of the American Revolution visited Washington Tuesday in preparation for next month's Revolutionary Days Celebration of the Battle of Kettle Creek. Wilkes County Commissioner Sam Moore, Washington Historical Foundation President Stephanie Macchia, Donna Hardy and Sue Davidson from the Chamber of Commerce welcomed the return of the SAR Color Guard in anticipation of the activities set for the weekend of February 8-10. In addition to the annual wreath-laying ceremony, events planned include a parade, battlefield tours, a historical film, a Colonial church service and other activities. More details will be published as they are made available.
