Wills Memorial Hospital Gala to feature 'The Usual Suspects'
Rat Pack" era, the disco era, current pop tunes, as well as music from the "Great American Songbook." "The Usual Suspects" is fronted by a male vocalist, Craig Meyer, and a female vocalist, Diane Bowman. The musicians in the band have performed with many well-known performers. Different members have performed with artists as diverse as Frank Sinatra, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Michael Bolton, Three Dog Night, The Drifters, The Coasters, The Platters, Clarence Carter, "Whisperin" Bill Anderson, David Allen Coe, Latin legends Tito Puente and Arturo Sandoval, and Christian artists Sandi Patti and Larnelle Harris. Various members of the band have been seen on TV around the world and have performed for every U.S. President since Jimmy Carter. Diane Bowman has performed in many off-Broadway productions as well as at the Village Gate and the Cave Canum Cabaret in New York City. Since returning to Atlanta, she has performed in numerous venues around Atlanta. Craig Meyer has just finished a successful run of Forever Plaid at the Atlanta Lyric Theater where Craig directed, choreographed, and performed in the show. Prior to that, Craig performed in Atlanta Alliance Theater's production of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well in Paris. On Broadway, Craig created the role of Clinton Badger in Meet Me in St. Louis. He has toured nationally in Cats as Skimbleshanks, in Starlight Express as the Red Caboose, and as Mike Nulty in Irving Berlin's White Christmas. Craig sang the song "A Whole New World" in Disney's Oscar winning classic movie Aladdin. Television appearances include guest starring roles on "Will & Grace," "Good Morning Miami," and "General Hospital," as well as appearances on "The Tonight Show" and "The Today Show." In music, Craig has toured internationally and recorded with music legends Barry Manilow and Frankie Valli. "The Usual Suspects" provides a dynamic sound in all its musical genres. Everyone should have fun trying out their "Dancing With the Stars" moves at the hospital gala. Only twenty-fivetables of eight are available. An added feature this year is that all tables will have unique Valentine decorations created by volunteer decorators vying for a first prize of $100, a second prize of $50, and a third prize of $25. Individual seats are $125 each; benefactors have four seats for a $500 contribution; and sponsors receive eight reservations for a $1000 contribution.
