Joseph Alexander Boatwright III

Funeral services for Joseph Alexander Boatwright III, 35, of Rayle were held Sunday, January 13, 2008, at Sardis Baptist Church, Rayle, with Rev. Jim Newsome officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died January 9 at his home.

Mr. Boatwright was a native and lifelong resident of Wilkes County. He was the son of J.A. (Alex) Boatwright Jr. and the late Joy Phillips Boatwright. He was an officemanager in the construction business and a member of Sardis Baptist Church.

Survivors include his father, Alex Boatwright Jr. of Rayle; a sister, Mildred Amy Boatwright, Rayle; paternal grandmother, Wilda S. Boatwright, Rayle; and maternal grandmother, Mildred Inez Phillips, Thomson.

Pallbearers included Chris Howard, Dwight Nicholson, Tracy Phillips, Bo Hicks, Stacy Phillips, and Howard Smith.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
