Washington Personal Mention

Boots and Shirley Gunter enjoyed the Oconee Youth Playhouse production, "Bugsy Malone," on Saturday night at Oconee County Civic Center. This was one of six performances and granddaughters, Emmeline and Isabelle Hale, were members of the cast. lRobert and Mary Graves of Los Angeles, Calif., arrived December 22 for a holiday visit with his father, Arthur Graves. On Sunday all enjoyed a visit with Ron Johnson in Hartwell and Monday they celebrated with a Christmas dinner in Thomson. Before leaving Christmas afternoon the family celebrated with a Christmas lunch. lSybil Lincoln of Commerce is visiting several days with her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Jim Bundy. lNew Year's Day guests of Boots and Shirley Gunter were Cread, Alicia, Luke, and Porter Brown of Thomson; and Margaret Fortson of Tignall. They all enjoyed a traditional New Year's lunch. lDewey and Bill Cooper of Athens visited Friday with Norma Hopkins. Other visitors in the Hopkins home during the weekend were Dennis and Fran Hopkins of Acworth who also visited Martha Drinkard. lBaron Callaway of Orangeburg, S.C., and son, Mit Callaway of Jacksonville, Fla., visited Harriett Callaway several days recently. They were here to attend the funeral for Mrs. Callaway's brother-in-law, Charles Elam, on January 7 in Lincolnton. lOn a recent weekend, Boots and Shirley Gunter attended the Ellett Brothers Sporting Goods Show in Columbia, S.C., at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds.
