Cornelia Johnson Circle members meet at Lindsey home on Jan. 8 The Cornelia Johnson Circle of the First United Methodist Church met on Tuesday, January 8, at the home of Alice Lindsey. The meeting was called to order by the chairman, Laura Toburen. She opened the meeting with prayer and welcomed members and guest, Sue Warren. Reports were given by Vicki Harvey, treasurer, and Linda Smith, sunshine chairman. Mrs. Lindsey gave a devotional on "I Hope You Dance" using a reading and song. During the business meeting Kay Bray gave a report from the nominating committee recommending officers, Laura Toburen, chairman; Linda Smith, vice-chairman; Alice Lindsey, secretary; Vicki Harvey, treasurer; Bunny Gunby, sunshine chairman. All were unanimously approved. It was noted that Sunday, February 10, will be Baby Recognition Sunday and plans were made for that event. Other projects were discussed and announcements included District Training, January 13 at 2:30 p.m. in Thomson; the next meeting on February 5 at Randee Barry's home; and the Baby Recognition Sunday. Becky Hooton gave a very interesting program on her recent mission trip to Thessaloniki, Greece, and showed slides of different people, scenes and areas of mission work for the team.
Mrs. Lindsey served delicious refreshments to members and guest attending who included Laura Toburen, Marcia Delaney, Gale Seibert, Judy Thompson, Vicki Harvey, Susan Hargrove, Kay Bray, Bunny Gunby, Pauline Bell, Linda Smith, Randee Barry, Becky Hooton and guest, Sue Warren.
