The ugly details about staph infections
Dr. Lester Johnston (right) told the Washington Rotary Club all about how Community Associated Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus lives and spreads to infect the unsuspecting human body. He told the club that as much as 75 percent of the population may have the bacteria living on their skin just waiting for a cut or some other portal through which to enter the body. The best way to prevent infection is by simply washing your hands frequently and by practicing good general hygiene. Johnston, a Rotarian himself, was welcomed by Club President Paula Stephens.
