Harold Leroy Higgins

Funeral services for Harold Leroy Higgins, 79, of Washington were held Friday, January 18, 2008, at the chapel of Meadows Funeral Home, Monroe. Interment was in Hill Haven Cemetery. He died Monday, January 14, 2008.

Mr. Higgins was a native of Gwinnett County and was the son of the late Leonard Higgins and the late Jessie Jones Higgins. He was the widower of Rose Ida Sutterfield Higgins.

Survivors include six sons, Harold Higgins Jr., Texas, Floyd Higgins, Washington, Gene Higgins, Alabama, Richard Higgins, Franklin, Dale Higgins, Elkmonk, Ala., and Benjamin Higgins, Griffin; fivedaughters, Patti Lindsey, Ringgold, Rose Marie Casper, Covington, Libby Deaton, Monroe, Linda Sargent, Monroe, and Brenda Bloomer Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Dale Wilson of Canton and Martha Lawrence of Mayesville; 23 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Meadows Funeral Home Inc. of Monroe was in charge of arrangements.
