Jimmie Ledford Williams

Funeral services for Jimmie Ledford Williams, 77, of Crawfordville were held Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at the Crawfordville Baptist Church with Rev. John Autry officiating. Interment was in the Crawfordville Baptist Church Cemetery. She died Sunday, January 20, at her home.

Mrs. Williams was a native and lifelong resident of Taliaferro County and was the daughter of the late James Cowan Ledford and Claudine Stanford Ledford. She was the widow of Horace Edmond Williams. She was a graduate of Alexander Stephens Institute in Crawfordville and from 1988 until 2004 she was an insurance agent with the Farm Bureau. She was a faithful member of the Crawfordville Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She was a Girls Auxiliary leader, a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Woman's Missionary Union and the Gleaners Sunday School Class, and was a director on the Rayle Electric Membership Corporation Board from 1985 to the present time.

Survivors include two daughters, Dell W. McMullen of Columbus, and Rita W. Estes and her husband George of McDonough; a son, Wayne Williams and his wife Pet of Crawfordville; a sister, Jean Ricketson of Greenwood, S.C.; a brother, George Ledford, Crawfordville; four grandchildren, Todd Williams Estes, Taylor Estes, Elisabeth Reddick, and Ginny Hudson; and two great-grandchildren, Mason Reddick and Abby Reddick.

Pallbearers included Bobby Moore, Joey Rhodes, John Wilhelm, Robert Harold Kendrick, Charlie Taylor, Ken Bennett, Phil Brown, Jeff Paul, and Ricky McCommons. Directors of the Rayle EMC served as honorary pallbearers.

McCommons Funeral Home of Greensboro was in charge of arrangements.
