A broken vow
Broken vows and promises I believe break the heart of God. It makes Him sad and angry as it was in the days of Noah; marrying and given in marriage; eating, drinking and being merry. I've never been one to make new year's resolutions, and I don't believe very many people keep them. In a drunken stupor they place their head where they normally place something else and they cry and pray and promise God many things. "Lord, if you'll just help me now, I promise I'll never do it again." Like the man falling off a cliff, as he was falling he made lots of vows and promises to God. There was a large root hanging out the side of the mountain; he grabbed it, pulled on it awhile, looked up and said, "That's okay, God! Forget what I said. This root has got me now." How true that is about how we treat God, but He keeps a record more perfect than man could ever dream of and I suppose there's trillions and trillions of broken vows and promises recorded in Heaven.
I wonder how many of mine are there!
