Kelley McLaurin Randall marries Patrick Jerome Castaneda Dec. 29

Mrs. Patrick Jerome Castaneda
Kelley McLaurin Randall and Patrick Jerome Castaneda of Clinton, S.C., exchanged wedding vows in a service of Christian marriage Saturday, December 29, at six-thirty o'clock in the evening at the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton. Rev. Larry Hays of Rock Hill, S.C., and Rev. Wain Wesberry of Clinton officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Comer Henry Randall III of Clinton.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rojelio Castaneda of Joanna, S.C.

A profusion of ivory roses, white hydrangeas, tulips and dendrobium orchids with trailing greenery embellished the high choir loft railing and white votives adorned each window. On each side of the altar was a tall single candle placed in memory of Jackson O'Brien Byers, Julio Castaneda, Maurice Jerome Davenport, Patrick Kelly Randall, Maria Concepcion Sauceda and Thomas Aurelius Stallworth. These were lighted by Griffin Richmond Randall and James Rider Randall of Atlanta, cousins of the bride.

The prelude was presented by organist Cynthia Cauble Perry, and pianist Gary Conrad Rutkowski, both of Clinton. Soloists were Taylor Catherine Randall of Clinton, sister of the bride, and Ali Boyd Titus of Presybterian College in Clinton. Miss Titus sang "Pie Jesu" by Webber prior to the processional and "O Perfect Love" by Barnby/Gurney/ Rogers during the ceremony. Miss Randall offered "Go, My Children, with My Blessing" by Behnke/Vajda just before the benediction. The wedding processionals were from Handel's "The Fireworks Suite" and the recessional was "Toccata" by Widor.

Mr. Castaneda served as his son's best man. Groomsmen were George Gallman Corley and Myron John Hunt of Clinton; James Michael Gibbs of Savannah; Zachary Paul Kay of Greenwood, S.C.; Clark Owen Kinard III of Joanna, S.C., brother-in-law of the bridegroom; and Franklin Monroe Rinaca of Charleston, S.C. Garrett Alexander Bedenbaugh of Clinton; Griffin Richmond Randall and James Rider Randall served as honorary groomsmen. Junior groomsmen were Austin Jerome Kinard and Tanner Brook Kinard of Joanna, S.C., nephews of the bridegroom. All wore orchid boutonnieres on the lapels of their tuxedoes.

Kaysi Pitts McMurray of Mountville, S.C., was matron of honor and Taylor Catherine Randall served her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Catherine Maria Castaneda of Simpsonville, S.C., and Noel Castaneda Kinard of Joanna, S.C., sisters of the bridegroom; Jessica Parker Floyd and Erica Michelle Parker of Lexington, S.C.; and Lauren Hays Haigler of Irmo, S.C. Their gowns were black taffeta ruched halter bodices and black taffeta Aline skirts. They carried hand-tied bouquets of white mini calla lilies.

Honorary bridesmaids, Laura Allison Davis of Simpsonville, S.C.; Caroline Coats Hunt of Clinton; Suzanne Gail Meehan of Jamestown, N.C.; and Lauren Edmunds Tolcher of Lexington, S.C., carried hand-tied bouquets of ivory roses.

Serving as junior bridesmaids were Brianna Nicole Byers of Columbia, cousin of the bride; and Kayleigh Noel Kinard of Joanna, S.C., niece of the bridegroom. They wore champagne satin spaghetti strap pick-up ball gowns each finished with a black sash and bow and carried kissing balls covered with moss and white orchids.

Gavin Blake Kinard of Joanna, S.C., nephew of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, mother and sister, was elegant in her strapless gown fashioned with a split champagne overskirt. The bodice was embellished with beaded lace and this design was repeated on the flowing train.

Her cathedral-length champagne veil was scattered with pearls and attached to a pearl and rhinestone comb.

She carried a hand-tied bouquet of blush roses, white hydrangeas and white mini calla lilies. Attached to the ribbon tying her bouquet was a white cameo that both her grandmother and mother wore in their weddings.

For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Randall, escorted by her husband, wore a stretch taffeta pleated top and brooch with a mock mesh skirt overlay.

Escorted by her son-in-law, Mr. Kinard III, Mrs. Castaneda, the bridegroom's mother, chose a royal blue pant suit with gold embellishments on the jacket.

Each carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory roses and white mini calla lilies.

The bride's grandmother, Mrs. Jackson O'Brien Byers of West Columbia, S.C., escorted by Mr. Bedenbough, wore a full-length ivory dress and jacket. Her grandmother, Mrs. Comer Henry Randall Jr. of Washington, escorted by grandsons and honorary groomsmen, wore a bronze full-length dress and jacket.

The bridegroom's grandmother, Mrs. Maurice Jerome Davenport of Joanna, S.C., also escorted by Mr. Kinard III, chose a pink ensemble.

Each was presented a rosebud corsage.

The grandfather of the bride, Comer Henry Randall Jr. of Washington, had an orchid boutonniere for his lapel.

The wedding coordinator was Mrs. Timothy Aaron Bedenbaugh of Clinton.

Reception

Following the ceremony the bride's parents entertained at a reception at Mabry-Smith-Yonce at Presbyterian College in Clinton.

Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Danny Cook and Mrs. Harriet Hart of Clinton.

Tables were draped in black cloths. The refreshment tables held elaborate arrangements of white dendrobium orchids and hydrangeas and ivory roses in crystal clear tall trumpet vases of varying heights. A delicious buffet of heavy hors d'oeuvres was served.

Guests' tables continued this theme and had added white votives. Mirrors were used to reflectthe elegant floral designs.

The wedding cake centered a round table also overlaid in black. White columns separated the top tier from the three stacked layers all covered in an ivory cream icing enhanced with tiny dots and shell scrollwork. Amid the columns and topping the cake were roses and dendrobium orchids. Scattered around the base of the confection were orchids and rose petals. To one side of the cake was another tall cylinder holding white dendrobium orchids and the couple's toasting glasses.

During the evening the couple danced their first dance to "At Last" sung by the bride's sister. The bride and her father danced to "What a Wonderful World" sung by the band.

The couple left the reception in their wedding attire amid a glow of sparklers.

In lieu of wedding favors, the bridal couple donated money in honor of their guests to the American Heart Association.

Mr. and Mrs. Castaneda are making their home in Clinton.

Rehearsal Dinner

Mr. and Mrs. Rojelio Castaneda were hosts at a rehearsal dinner on Friday evening, December 28, at the Harper Center at Presbyterian College honoring Kelley Randall and Patrick Castaneda.

Greeting guests were Robert Cook, Katie Guthrie, and Mr. and Mrs. Josh Kay of Clinton.

Tables were formally laid with white linen cloths and napkins. Centering each table was a footed crystal globe holding a white pillar candle. A white wide satin ribbon bow enhanced the stem and silver sparkle snowflakeswere scattered about.

After dinner the prospective bridegroom cut his Georgia Bulldog cake.

A video of the couple was enjoyed during the evening.

Bridesmaids Luncheon

Kelley Randall was honored at the bridesmaids luncheon on December 28 at The Farmhouse at Bush River near Clinton. Hostesses were her grandmothers, Mrs. Jackson Byers and Mrs. C. H. Randall Jr.; and her aunt, Lyn Randall of Tybee Island.

Miss Randall was lovely in a black and white ensemble complemented by a corsage of pink Akito roses.

As guests arrived they were served cheese straws and hot punch while they visited and enjoyed pictures of the bride-elect and her prospective bridegroom displayed on large calico hearts.

Miss Randall and her attendants were seated at a long table decorated with mixed bouquets nestled in scrunched floral fabric. Wedding bells hung from two chandeliers over the table. Smaller tables were overlaid in white and accented with the scrunched fabric. Places were marked with delicately crossstitched cards and tiny white and pink favor bags holding pink mints, pink M&M's with the couple's names, date of the wedding and 1 Corinthians 13 on them, and a saying about love. Beside the place setting were programs the covers of which were pictures of the couple through the years.

Guests enjoyed green salad, shrimp and grits, and a frozen peppermint cheese cake.

The bride-elect presented her bridesmaids earrings for the wedding and travel bags; her honorary bridesmaids, earrings and makeup bags, and her junior bridesmaids, necklaces and earrings and overnight bags.

Joining the bride-elect and hostesses were bridesmaids, honorary bridesmaids, junior bridesmaids, the couple's mothers, the bridegroom's grandmother, Mrs. Davenport; Mrs. Danny Cook and Mrs. Tim Bedenbaugh.

Out-of-Town Brunch

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mache, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gambrell entertained at an out-of-town guest brunch on Sunday morning, December 30, at The Farm at Bush River.

Christmas decorations were used throughout.

A delicious brunch was served.

Those with Randall family connections attending were Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Randall Jr., Lyn Randall, Bill Cannon, Jake and Griffin Randall, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Randall, Taylor Randall; Mr. and Mrs. Don Taylor of Atlanta; Mrs. Vince Gardner, Taylor Kate and Claudia, and Dr. and Mrs. Dean Thornton, Patrick and Eliza, of Birmingham, Ala.; Mrs. Jackson Byers, Brian Byers and Brianna, and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Anderson.
