That's Ernie Harwell, all right, and the other guy is Paul Carey
Yes, that's Washington native and famed Detroit Tigers announcer Ernie Harwell on the left but last week's News-Reporter was incorrect in its identificationof the other famous announcer on the right. Less than two hours after the edition was published online - and before the printed edition even hit the streets - this newspaper was notified by Steve Schrader at the Detroit Free Press that Paul Carey is the second announcer pictured with Harwell at Tiger Stadium in Detroit. Harwell is being honored here on the occasion of his induction into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame next month. More on page 9.
