The North Wilkes Steering Committee is sponsoring a bingo night at the old school lunchroom in Tignall on Saturday, February 23, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Horse lovers are invited to join the Classic South Equine Association. The group will be meeting the first Tuesday of each month. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 4, 7 p.m., in the building on the southwest corner of Court and Jefferson Streets. Plans are underway for the association's first annual Classic South Horse Fair to be held on Saturday, May 17, at Callaway Plantation.

The Bethlehem Baptist Church will celebrate the pastor's eighth anniversary on Sunday, March 16, 11:30 a.m. Rev. Garnett Shorter and the Lyonsville Baptist Church will be in charge of the service.

Nine-year-old Jazmine Johnson will be the speaker for the black history program at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Rayle, on Sunday, February 24, at 2:30 p.m. Music will be by the Hall Brothers, and there will be a skit, speeches, and dances. Refreshments will be like grandmother would make them.

The Lincoln-Wilkes Retired Educators Association (LWREA) will meet Thursday, February 14, 11 a.m., at the Lincoln County Library, 181 North Peachtree Street. Bring 2006-2008 GREA copy of awards and recognition guidelines. All retired educators are invited to attend. Frances F. Zellars is president of the group.
