Shoulder shrugging unacceptable
      The citizens of Washington were cheated last night as the monthly City Council meeting was called to order, tourism, Chamber, PDA, and police reports were read and Debbie Danner requested two actions from the Council.

Wilkes poll workers appreciate thoughtful actions on election day
      TO THE EDITOR: On Super Tuesday I was working on the District 1 poll along with Carolyn Harper, Vivian Evans, and Travis Armour. About 12:30, a lady who had voted earlier in the morning came in with four meals from the Sandwich Shop for the four poll workers.
