The staff of God’s Marketplace held an Appreciation Coffee for volunteers last week, Director David Toburen said. The next regular meeting of the Wilkes County Board of Commissioners will be on Thursday, March 13, at 7 p.m. The staff of God's Marketplace held an Appreciation Coffee for volunteers last week, Director David Toburen said. "We just wanted to thank some 75 volunteers who have been involved in some aspect of the ministry since last summer. The Food Pantry, headed by Rich Seibert, now feeds some 30 needy local people a week, and the Thrift Store, headed by Tena Blakey, is doing some $700 in business each week. "Our volunteers have put in an amazing amount of work and dedication," Toburen said, "and we wanted to express our appreciation to each one of you for your efforts."
