'Thanks for a job well done'

TO THE EDITOR:

Congratulations to the city of Washington and all of the committees and individuals whose hard work made the Erine Harwell tribute a hugh success.

Ernie Harwell is a great American, an incredible role model, a great man of faith, a tremendous encourager, and a true inspiration. Rightly so, Washington, Georgia, is proud to claim Ernie as a native son. He is the epitome of what Baseball represents in the American fabric of life. He is one of the very best of the "Greatest Generation."

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the event and the program and all of the speakers and participants. It was very well organized and was a first class performance. Thanks for a job well done.
