Pvt. Steven A. Bunch

Private Steven A. Bunch graduated from basic training with the United States Marine Corps in Parris Island, S.C., on February 8.

The Marine is the son of Greg Bunch, and John and Linda Bunner; and the grandson of Zan and Marjorie Bunch of Tignall.

During the 12-week course he completed stringent courses including martial arts, combat water survival, drill, physical training, and marksmanship.

High focus was put on core value training of honor, courage, and commitment. The 54-hour Crucible rounded the final stages of testing, giving each recruit the rite of passage to a United States Marine.

Pvt. Bunch will continue combat training for 22 days at Camp Le Jeune, N.C., before beginning his occupation of electronics and communications.
