Lions Club returns Sunday dinner after church' meal project After an absence of about three years, a popular project of the Washington Lions Club will return Sunday, March 2, to a special welcome by church-goers and the general public as well. "Sunday Dinner After Church," a home-cooked meal expertly prepared by Lions Club chefs, will be served at the club building on south Spring Street beginning at 11:30 a.m. and continuing until all plates are sold. Diners may enjoy personal service at the clubhouse or order meals in carry-out containers. "We are happy to resume this club project, and we hope it will be a convenient and enjoyable event for everyone," said Lion President Mary Hubbard. "Sincere thanks to everyone for your support in all our efforts. The funds we raise are used for community activities and improvements as well as for projects of Lions International."
At the long-standing price of $6 per plate, the Sunday Dinner menu consists of roast beef, rice and gravy, green beans, salad, homemade biscuits, assorted desserts, and choice of tea or coffee. Advance tickets are available from any Lions Club member. Reservations may be made by calling Mary Hubbard at 706-678-7235.
