Mary Wright Blue honored at 103rd birthday luncheon Mary Wright Latimer Blue was honored on the occasion of her 103rd birthday Friday, February 15, at a luncheon given by Jo Randall at her home on East Robert Toombs Avenue. Mrs. Blue and her guests celebrated around the dining table that was covered in pink and overlaid with an heirloom crocheted cloth. A tiered glass epergne of beautiful camellias from gardens about Washington, arranged by Avola Callaway, centered the table. Small apothecary bottles of delicate pink and white waxflowersmarked each place in addition to china place cards that featured golden double hearts. A delicious luncheon course was enjoyed and was finished with a dessert of Key Lime Pie. During the party Avola Callaway shared a reading, "Just Being a Clock" by Celestine Sibley, that reminisced about "old-timey" things.
Invited to celebrate with Mrs. Blue and her hostess were her sister, Anne Latimer Folks of Spanish Fort, Ala.; Billie Sue Roberts, Laura Purdy, Totie Derrick, Avola Callaway, Frances Shank, Norma Alice Wallace, and Irene Rousey.
