Nursing home residents enjoy Valentine party hosted by WOM group

Members of the Frances Wheelis Women on Missions of the First Baptist Church were hostesses for a Valentine party at Heritage Healthcare of Wilkes, formerly Wilkes Health Care, on Thursday afternoon, February 14.

Ann Giles, activities assistant, assisted the members and decorated the party table with a festive cloth and centered it with a cluster of prissy ladies decorated in red and purple. She also furnished red hats for all the ladies.

Hostesses, Nancy Madden, Rosemary Hopkins, Susan Pope and granddaughters, Anna and Caroline Gentry, served residents their favorites of Angel Food cake, pimento cheese sandwiches, cheese puffs, Valentine cookies and punch. They also presented each resident a beautiful card with John 3:16 and the word Valentine spelled within the verse. It was signed by all the members of the group.
