UCAP members thank all who supported MLK day activities

TO THE EDITOR:

The mission statement for the United Community Awareness Program (UCAP) is "UCAP working together. Our intent is to provide quality support to enhance our community."

We thank the community for taking part in the Martin Luther King Jr. celebration events. A special thanks to Mayor Burns and Barbara Burns, Pastor L.V. Turman and Faith Christian Center, everyone who participated in the parade, our grand marshalls, Clara Sutton and Pastor Kenneth Walker of Atlanta, a native of Wilkes County, Rev. G.L. Avery and the Third Shiloh Association for the use of the center, and the Washington Police Department.

Dr. King's dream was that one day this nation would rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed. Thank you all.
