Describes Tour de Georgia plans
Donnie Smith, of the Georgia State Patrol (right), told members of the Washington Rotary Club about the impact the Tour de Georgia bicycle race is expected to have on the city of Washington when is comes through this spring. He outlined some of the anticipated traffic problems and told of plans to handle the large number of people expected to be in the county. Smith also urged club members to volunteer to help with the event in any way possible. Lt. Andy Carrier (left) accompanied Smith and Bobby Jones (center) was the program host. (Smith also told the club that the move of the State Patrol post at Thomson to Columbia County will have no effect on the Washington post.)
