Bingo can be lots of fun for the young and the old. Delhi and Beulah were well represented at bingo night at the Tignall Lunchroom Saturday night. O'Neil and Celeste Adams had their three grandchildren and Trip Harper with them. Their youngest grandson, Connor, really knows how to win at bingo. I think they had to back their car up to the door to load up all his prizes. O'Neil said they were going on to Las Vegas from there! The North Wilkes Steering Committee appreciates all those who came out to this event and supported them. The committee also appreciates the bingo prize donations from Tody Derrick, Ellen Bunch, Kay Tyler, and Tyler's Machine Shop. . Scott and Kathy Ware spent from Thursday through Sunday in Mobile, Alabama. This was a jobrelated trip, but they did enjoy it, especially that good seafood. .Spending the weekend with O'Neil and Celeste Adams were their grandchildren, Connor and Chase Coots, sons of Kim and Joe Coots of Ranger, and Abbey Range, daughter of Amanda and Billy Range of Bethlehem. .Myrline Thornton has gone on another shopping spree with her daughter, Mary Jacobs of Monticello. They took in the Forum in Norcross and the Mart in Atlanta. They visited friends in Jackson and enjoyed going out to eat. .Graydon and Pat Bobo attended the Georgia Beef Ambassador contest in Perry this past Friday and Saturday. Graydon and Pat both served as judges for the two different categories that the youth were judged upon. Youth from the ages of 13 to 20 competed for cash prizes and a trip to the national competition in Oklahoma City this fall. The winner in the senior division was Rebekah Estes of Tifton and the junior division was Chandler Akins of Nashville. .Alan Poss was a proud grandpa at church Sunday, showing pictures of that new grandson. Jacob Alan Poss, son of Len and Susan Poss, was born last weekend and will be called Jake. .The senior lunch at Tignall Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 19, was enjoyed by all. Jackie Elsner of the Clarke County Library did some wonderful storytelling and sang old ballads to go along with the tales. Tignall Baptist Seniors are fortunate in having Pat Bobo get these interesting programs and the delicious meals together for us. I'm sure this is not an easy job. .The Awana Clubbers of Tignall Baptist Church will be having the Grand Prix Race Sunday afternoon. The Tignall Baptist youth will be having a hotdog lunch after the worship service and before the race starts. Come on out to the Family Life Center and see these kids race their little cars. This can be lots of fun for all ages. .On Saturday, March 15, there will be a "Ladies Night Out" at Tignall Baptist Family Life Center with Nancy Burgess as the guest speaker. Tickets are $10 and dinner is included. Tickets will be available next Sunday. .Beulah Baptist Church will be having a singing with the Dennis Gay Family on Sunday, March 9, at 7 p.m. .Beulah Baptist Church will be having a barbecued chicken lunch on Saturday, March 22. I understand this is the first day of turkey season, so maybe that will be a good way to remember this date. You may purchase a plate at the firestation in Beulah with the proceeds going toward their building fund. .Pat Mack had two of her grandchildren spending the weekend with her two weeks ago. They were Austin Mack of Elberton and Courtney Mack of Lexington. When Pat was carrying five-year-old Courtney home, they passed a cemetery where there was a vault placed in the cemetery. Courtney said, "I think someone must be dead because there's a cedar chest out there in that cemetery." .Let's keep Dr. Sophia Bamford in our prayers. She is in a hospital in Augusta with pneumonia. Her daughter, Sara Pelot of Washington, D.C., and granddaughter, Laura Hopper of Arizona, are here with her. .Also remember J.C. Clark in your prayers. He had surgery in Augusta last week. Let's hope this surgery was successful. .The town of Tignall was saddened to hear of the death of Howard Jordan. Sincere sympathy is extended to his daughter Sybil and the rest of the family. Mr. Howard was the oldest member of Mallorysville Baptist Church and will certainly be missed by its members.
