On Monday, February 18, a group from churches in the Georgia Baptist Association went to Lavonia to deliver "Heart Shower" items to HEART Ministries Inc. The ladies there appreciated the many useful things so very much. .Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer joined seniors at Tignall Baptist Church Tuesday and enjoyed the program and lunch. The guest speaker was Jackie Elsner, a librarian from Athens. She was very witty and told some cute stories. Lunch was served in the fellowship hall and as always Pat Bobo and her helpers did a wonderful job. .Mr. and Mrs. Mike Clements of Lincolnton visited Mrs. Juanita Bradford one afternoon last week. .Dianne Butler of Columbia spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer. She attended services at Clifford's Grove Baptist Church with them Sunday morning. .We were deeply saddened by the death of George Wheatley Thursday. He was a nice man and will be sorely missed. James and I attended visitation Saturday night at Hopkins Funeral Home and his funeral Sunday afternoon at Rehoboth Baptist Church. Our deepest sympathy to Sara and her family. .Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance Sunday afternoon were Elizabeth Barber and Chris Conway of Athens. .Mrs. Bill Scoggins of Augusta visited her mother, Mrs. Evans Davis, Sunday afternoon. .For several years there has been an hour of prayer and fellowship at the Georgia Baptist Association Center every second Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. It has now been extended to two days, every second Tuesday and every third Thursday, at 9:30 a.m. James Sherrer is the Associational prayer coordinator. There are a few faithful ones who attend every service. James invites everyone who is interested to join us. We pray for the sick, all churches, our President and leaders, all servicemen and women, and other requests. This is a sad time in our country. We need to pray earnestly for God's guidance in everything we do. .James and I have been going to Raytown Baptist Church every Thursday night at seven o'clock to prayer service. There is a good attendance each time and we enjoy it very much. Rev. Wade Palmer is pastor. He invites everyone to come.
