Howard J. Jordan Funeral services for Howard J. Jordan, 93, of Tignall, will be held Thursday, February 28, 2008, at the Mallorysville Baptist Church, 2 p.m., with Rev. Donnie Berry and Rev. Roy Cates officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. He died Monday, February 25, at his home. Mr. Jordan was a native of Banks County and had lived in Wilkes County for 69 years. He was the son of the late Van Buren Jordan and Nancy Lynch Jordan, and was the widower of Julia Youngblood Jordan. He retired from Royal Manufacturing Co. and was a member of the Mallorysville Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Sybil J. Ashmore of Tignall; three grandchildren, Tony Jordan, Tena Gaines, and Melissa Henry; a sister, Minnie Youngblood of Elberton; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers included Tony Hammond, Shane Denard, Joe Burton, Otis Callaway, Ralph Denard, and Monty Browning.
Hopkins Funereal Home of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
