A Place of Meditation
What intrigued me was, back in the woods near a cascading stream was a beautiful European-style chapel, so peaceful and serene. There was a sign that read, "A place for meditation and prayer." Mr. Callaway built this chapel in memory of his saintly mother. On the way home, that thought stayed on my mind. Then I read in Guidepost magazine where a lady placed a stone bench in her garden as her place of meditation and prayer. Even though you can pray anywhere, a dedicated altar and place of prayer is special. Amen! Anyway, God laid it on my heart to put a gazebo in our backyard, which is now my little paradise with all that I've done there in memory of my saintly mother. I know now that it had to be God or I would have quit while digging those postholes in 100 degree heat. I'm telling you. By being like my mother, an absolute improviser, I took the mesh wire satellite dish which is dome shaped, that we no longer use, and converted it into a very attractive top for my gazebo. So, I found a good use for something I had intended to haul off. All around the gazebo, except in the front, is a built-in bench that serves for sitting and meditating and for kneeling as an altar of prayer and on a small hanging sign at the entranceway of the gazebo is inscribed, "A place for meditation and prayer. In memory of Lucille A. Toole."
Ain't God good! Can you say amen?
